Media library and stock content
The Media tab is both your personal asset library and a stock content search. A type strip narrows everything to images, video, or audio, and a mode switch flips between what you have uploaded and what you can pull in from outside providers.
Quick overview
- Open the Media tab (
Alt+6) in the icon rail. - Pick a type: Image, Video, or Audio.
- Switch between Library (your own media) and Stock (external search).
- In Library, browse folders, search, and filter, or drag files in to upload.
- In Stock, search a provider and click a result to import it into your library and drop it on the canvas.
Detailed reference
Library
Your own media, organized into folders.
| Feature | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Folders | Nested, with a custom name and icon; drag and drop to reorder or move items between them |
| Recent Uploads | A standing bucket for anything added without picking a folder |
| Search | Text search box in the library toolbar |
| Filter | A dropdown for sort order (date, name, size), aspect ratio, thumbnail size, and a "5 MB or larger" checkbox |
| Upload | The upload button, a drop zone in the panel, dragging files onto the canvas, or dragging a whole folder in from your desktop |
| Trash | Deleted items move to a trash store instead of disappearing immediately, see Editor settings for auto-clean timing |
Right-click actions
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Export PNG / JPG / WebP | Downloads the asset in that format |
| Copy to Clipboard | Copies the image for pasting elsewhere |
| Move to folder | Files the item into a different folder |
| Edit | Opens the item for editing |
| Info | Shows file details |
| Delete | Sends the item to trash |
Bulk actions
Turn on selection mode to multi-select items, then use the bulk bar for Move to folder or Delete across the whole selection at once.
Placing media on the canvas
Drag any library or stock item straight onto the canvas to add it as a new object, or drop it onto an existing frame or selection shape to clip it into that outline. A drop-target overlay appears over the canvas while you drag, so it is clear where a release will land.
Stock search
Each media type searches a different set of providers.
| Type | Providers |
|---|---|
| Image | Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay |
| Video | Pexels, Pixabay |
| Audio | Freesound, Jamendo |
Each provider needs its own API key, entered once under AI and API keys. If a key is missing, the panel shows a prompt instead of results. Image and video searches support an orientation filter (landscape, portrait, square) and a row of quick-search chips; results load with infinite scroll, and importing a video shows a download-progress popup while it is fetched.
Working inside an organization
When the editor is connected to an organization's media library, two extra bulk and per-item actions appear: Tag and Add to brand, and the filter dropdown gains searchable brand and tag fields. These are unavailable in a standalone editor session, since they depend on the organization's shared library.
Sorting, filtering, and thumbnail size
A filter control above the grid opens a dropdown with several independent controls, all of which apply live to whatever grid is currently showing (a folder, All Images, or the Recent Uploads section):
| Control | Options |
|---|---|
| Sort | Date (most recent first), Name, or Size |
| View / aspect | All, Square, Portrait, or Landscape, based on the item's actual pixel dimensions |
| Thumbnail size | Small, Medium, or Large |
| File size | A checkbox to show only files 5 MB or larger |
| Brand / Tags (organization only) | Searchable multi-select filters scoped to the organization's brand and tag palette |
The active filter count shows as a badge on the filter button, and a Clear filters action resets everything at once.
Right-click and per-item actions in detail
Beyond the reference table above, several actions are worth knowing in depth:
| Action | Detail |
|---|---|
| Info | Opens a small popup with dimensions, estimated file size, folder, and format (or, for a video, format/duration/dimensions) |
| Copy to Clipboard | Re-encodes the image and writes it to the system clipboard for pasting into another app |
| Edit | Opens a popup to rename the item and move it to a different folder, with the same search-and-select folder picker used by drag and drop |
| Place as Grid | On a folder's right-click menu; walks through a two-step wizard (columns/rows/gap/corner radius, then which images to include) and drops the result onto the canvas as a real grid layout with each cell already filled |
| Export as ZIP | On a folder's right-click menu; downloads every image in that folder and its subfolders as a single ZIP file |
Trash and recovery
Deleting an item, from the cell's delete button, the right-click menu, or a bulk selection, moves it to Trash rather than deleting it outright.
| Action | Detail |
|---|---|
| Open Trash | The trash icon in the Media panel header, next to the folder-create button; shows a badge with the current item count |
| Restore | Each trashed item has a restore button that returns it to Recent Uploads |
| Empty Trash | Permanently removes everything currently in the trash, with a confirmation prompt |
| Auto-clean | Trash items older than the configured window disappear automatically; set the window (1, 7, or 30 days) in Editor settings under Preferences |
Step by step
Organize the library into folders and bulk-tag assets
- Open Media (
Alt+6), pick a type, and switch to Library mode. - Click the folder-create button in the panel header, name the folder, pick an icon, and (optionally) nest it under an existing folder as a sub-folder.
- Drag items from Recent Uploads, or from another folder, onto the new folder card to file them; drop a whole folder from your desktop file explorer directly onto the panel to recreate that structure inside the library.
- To act on many items at once, turn on selection mode, click each item's checkbox, then use the bulk bar for Move to folder or Delete; inside an organization, Tag and Add to brand appear in the same bar.
Search stock media and bring a result into your project
- Switch the mode toggle from Library to Stock.
- Pick a type (Image, Video, or Audio); the provider strip below it updates to that type's providers.
- Type a search term, or click one of the quick-search chips, and optionally narrow by orientation (landscape, portrait, square, where the provider supports it).
- Click a result. Images and video are added to the canvas and saved into your library at the same time; a video shows a draggable progress popup while it downloads. An audio result plays a short preview when you click its play button, and clicking the row itself both saves it to the library and attaches it to the design.
Recreate a folder structure from your desktop
- In Library mode, drag a folder directly from your operating system's file explorer onto the Media panel.
- The editor recreates the same folder (and any nested sub-folders) inside the library and imports every image inside it, instead of dumping everything into one flat list.
- A single loose file dropped the same way lands in whichever folder you dropped it into, or in Recent Uploads if you dropped it at the top level.
Recover something you deleted
- Click the trash icon in the Media panel header.
- Find the item and click its restore button to send it back to Recent Uploads, or use Empty Trash to clear everything permanently.
- If you do nothing, items still disappear on their own once the auto-clean window configured in Preferences passes.
Common tasks
| Task | Steps |
|---|---|
| Turn a folder of product photos into a grid | Right-click the folder, choose Place as Grid, set columns/rows, then pick which images fill the cells |
| Back up a folder outside the app | Right-click it and choose Export as ZIP |
| Check exactly how big an image is | Click its info button in the grid, or right-click and choose Info |
| Copy an image out to another app | Right-click it and choose Copy to Clipboard |
| Find every video in the library, across folders | Switch the type strip to Video, then open the All Videos card at the top of the grid |
| Search inside one folder only | Open the folder, then use the search box that appears at the top of that folder's view |
Troubleshooting
Missing stock provider key
If a provider's key has not been entered, the Stock view for that provider shows a prompt instead of a search box, with a direct link into Settings > API Keys. See AI and API keys to add it.
Organization-only actions disappear standalone
Tag, Add to brand, and the brand/tag filters only render when the editor is connected to an organization's shared library. In a standalone session they are hidden rather than shown disabled.
Large recent lists page in gradually
The Recent Uploads section loads a fixed batch at a time with a Load More button at the bottom, rather than rendering thousands of thumbnails at once.

Tips
Type first, then search
Switching the Image / Video / Audio strip before you search narrows every stock provider at once, so you are not digging through the wrong media type in the results.
Folders survive a desktop drag
Dragging a folder from your computer's file explorer directly onto the panel recreates the same folder structure inside the library, instead of dumping every file into one flat list.
